Archery Products
Good quality archery products can make a
difference to your target practice and target shooting, as this
article explains ...
I recently watched the movie "Weather Man" with Nicolas
Cage. In the film, the actor's young daughter
decides she'd like to take up archery and eventually
so does Nicolas Cage. For a bow and arrow fan like myself, the
inclusion of archery target practice sequences in the film
was quite a treat. It also made me reflect on the importance of
having the right archery products, if you are a hunter or
target shooter of any kind.
I have been an archer for many years, so I know what I am
talking about. Before I had even tried any real archery
products, I was already making my own jury-rigged bow and
arrows to use in play hunting. That was a great game, let me
tell you. I never did hit anything that was moving, but I got
pretty good at hitting tin cans from about 12 feet away in the
backyard. When I finally got up to my first summer camp, I had
my first experience of how much difference using good archery
products can make. Of course, they were just standard longbows,
but even still, after my twig and string contraptions, they
were really a welcome addition to the sport of archery as far
as I was concerned.
Of course, when I got home, I was desperate to get some
archery equipment of my own. Although my parents happened to be
a couple of hippies, opposed to any kind of hunting, shooting,
or other violent action against man or beast, they eventually
acquiesced. In fact, they got me some pretty serious archery
products. They got me a compound bow. They got me professional
quality arrows. They got me a good, sturdy archery quiver. All
in all, I was one happy little killing machine! But, of course
my dad made sure that I only used my archery products in a
little shooting range that we set up in the backyard, and as a
result, no animals were shot, and no one was accidentally
hurt.
If you are thinking of getting a set of archery products for
your kid, I highly recommend it, but make sure to do a couple
things first. He or she should be responsible, and well
supervised. Your child should also be someone who seems to be
pretty stable and happy - disturbed kids should never get
weapons of any kind! And most of all, you should make sure that
he or she really and truly loves the sport of archery before
investing in some kind of expensive set of archery products.
Otherwise, you will just be wasting money on one more gadget
that will sit for endless hours in the closet. That is a shame
if you ask me. I have always thought that a bow and arrow
should be used and not just left there.
